The guard petals are rounded, somewhat notched, and cupped with an average width of 1 1/2 inches (3 cm), while the inner petals are smaller and variably more strongly notched. The plant has an average of 4 green, moderately hairy carpels with pink, sometimes feathered stigmas, and occasional seeds. The staminodal disc has a few projections and is white. The foliage is broad-pointed and green. The plant grows upright to 24 inches (61 cm).
